Jessica Granados, a junior right side/opposite from then-No.
2 Cal State San Bernardino, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division
II National Player of the Week. Her sound, all-around showing helped her
team to two wins last week, keeping them undefeated in Division II play this
season. In the Coyotes’ first match of the week, a sweep of then-No. 19
Chico State, Granados hit at a .500 clip behind 17 kills in 28 attempts and
only three errors. She added thee digs, two aces and two total blocks in the
win. In her team's second match of the week, Granados tallied 16 kills, six
digs, two aces and two total blocks in the Coyotes’ 3-0 win over Cal State
Stanislaus. For the week, Granados hit .462 behind 33 kills and only five
errors, averaging 5.5 kills and 1.28 digs per game. Granados is the third
player from Cal State San Bernardino to be named Sports Imports/AVCA
Division II National Player of the Week, and the first since Traci Weamer on
November 7, 2005. The Coyotes are coached by Kim Cherniss
