Urban Bourbon Trail
Kentucky is known far and wide as the birthplace of bourbon. With a number of renowned distilleries spread throughout central Kentucky, a Bourbon Trail tour is one of the most scenic experiences that the Bluegrass has to offer. You don't need to leave Louisville to get a taste of what Bourbon Country is all about, though. The Urban Bourbon Trail will guide you through historic Louisville, featuring a number of bourbon bars and restaurants that play a significant role in the tradition of the spirit.
Stop in for a bite to eat, a sip of rare and treasured bourbon, or even make it dessert. You can pick up an official passport from the Visitors Center (on the corner of 4th and Jefferson downtown) or download the Iphone app. Be sure to have your bartender or server validate your passport; completing all of the stops on the Urban Trail will earn you an official Trailblazer t-shirt and you'll be recognized as a citizen of Bourbon Country. Baseball is one of the most recognized national pastimes of America, and Louisville plays a crucial role in making the wheels of the sport go ‘round. Located in the West Main District of downtown, the museum showcases not only the tradition of Louisville Slugger brand baseball bats, but offers a glimpse into the history of the sport. The working production facility can be toured and is responsible for a significant percentage of all of the baseball bats currently used in the game. An integral component of Museum Row, the Louisville Slugger Museum can be identified for the several-storied replica bat that leans casually against the door of the museum.
