Paz Leads Michigan to Big Conference WinsNov. 24 - Juliana Paz, a senior outside hitter for then-No. 14 University of Michigan, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I Player of the Week. Paz led the Wolverines to big conference wins over rival Michigan State and then-No. 12 Minnesota last week. In a five-set match with the Spartans, Paz led the Wolverine attack with 19 kills in 25 attempts, netting a .371 hitting percentage, while adding seven digs and one block. In a sweep of the nationally-ranked Golden Gophers two days later, Paz slammed 23 kills with a strong hitting percentage of .450. She added nine digs and two blocks in the win. For the week, Paz averaged 5.3 kills and 2.0 digs per set, while hitting .413. This honor marks the first time a player from Michigan has won the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I Player of the Week. The Wolverines are coached by Mark Rosen.
