Welcome to the future home of the Florida High School Volleyball Coaches Association!
Registration Open for Inaugural Florida High School Volleyball Coaches Clinic (5/10/2010)
Lexington, KY (May 10, 2010) - The AVCA is pleased to present the inaugural Florida High School Volleyball Coaches Clinic, which will take place on Thursday, July 22 and Friday, July 23 on the campus of the University of Tampa. In addition to the clinic, discussions concerning the development of a Florida volleyball coaches association will take place.
A featured speaker at the event will be Dave Boos, assistant coach at the University of Florida. A recent addition to Gator coach Mary's Wise's staff, Boos most recently spent three seasons as the head coach at Ball State University. While on the Muncie campus, Boos rebuilt the Cardinals program, tripling the team's win total from his first season in his final year of 2009. In addition, Boos has served on the coaching staffs at Minnesota and Indiana.
Registration for the clinic is open to all high school and club coaches. The cost is $125 per participant and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, one drink ticket for the Thursday night coaches' reception, a one-year AVCA membership and the opportunity to be a charter member of the Florida High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
If the founding of the Florida association comes to fruition, it would become the eleventh state in the AVCA's Affiliate Partner Program, which was established in 2007 to foster relationships between the AVCA and high school volleyball coaches across the country. Currently, there are ten states in the program: Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Coaches who register before Friday, July 2 will receive a $125 Early Registration rate. After July 2, registration will increase to $149 per participant. To register online, click here.
Additional speakers and a specific clinic schedule will be announced at a later date.
