John Trojaniak, more affectionately known as "Troj", is an icon in Chicago Junior Volleyball history. A leader in establishing Chicago as one of the hotbeds of Junior Volleyball in the USA he developed not only great players but fed the entire Chicago area with skilled and dedicated coaches to promote and grow the sport.
Windy City Volleyball Club became a reality in 1974 and immediately established a trend of national success with their first Gold Medal at the AAU National Championships. That was the first of what would become 11 National Championships and 25 medal performance for the girls from the southside of Chicago.
Troj has held a passion for teaching the game, inspiring young athletes, mentoring coaches, and promoting the spirit of great competition. It is with great pleasure that John Trojaniak is selected for the Junior Volleyball Directors Hall of Fame.
