Latest News of the JVA

JVA is hosting a Mid-Year Championship, the 2011 JVA World Challenge Volleyball Championship.  Scheduled for April 22nd, 23rd and 24th.  We are offering competition in age divisions 10 through 18, with Open Divisions offered in 14 through 18.  All Divisions will play 3 days.  Event and Housing Registration will open on September 15th.
Released 8/30/2010

JVA and AAU are moving forward with their negotiations for a JVA/AAU partnership.  The full details of which will be released after the AAU Annual Meeting in Puerto Rico in October.  Dr. Roger Goudy, Chair of the AAU Volleyball Committee stated that "The dates for the 2011 AAU championship will be June 15-22.  Negotiations are currently taking place with both Disney and the Orange County Convention Center to move the 2012 championship to a later start date to allow all JVA member clubs including those from California and the east coast to participate.  Final details should be forthcoming in the near future."

The JVA Board of Directors understand that this will prevent some of our member clubs on the West coast and the North East part of the country from participating in the AAU Championships for 2011.  However, we feel that the long range benefits of the AAU and JVA alliance are worth waiting a year while AAU and Disney/ESPN are able to make the necessary arrangements that will allow them to include all our member clubs and, therefore make the championships in 2012 a true National Championship
