Coaching Volleyball
Article Submission
EDITORIAL
POLICIES:
Coaching Volleyball
is a professional journal intended to meet the needs of volleyball coaches
as it relates to techniques, training methods, etc., and to serve as a
forum for socioeconomic, education, and ethical issues. Coaching Volleyball
welcomes submissions of manuscripts of relevance to volleyball coaches
and to those professionals from related areas.
Priority will be
given to manuscripts that have practical applications for volleyball coaches
at all levels. Acceptance is based on originality of material, significance
to the volleyball coaching profession, validity, and adherence to prescribed
submission requirements. (See "Manuscript Preparation.")
Manuscripts may be
reviewed by at least three experts in appropriate specialties. Authors
are encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed by colleagues before
submission. Notification of acceptance or revision requirements usually
takes three to four weeks.
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATIONS:
Coaching Volleyball
will accept manuscripts produced in the following manner:
1. Prefer MS Word
98, Macintosh or Windows; submitted electronically to
kindalenberg@mindspring.com.
2. An original paper
copy and three copies of the manuscript: typed, doubled-spaced manuscript
on 8 1/2 x 11 white paper throughout, including references and quotations.
(Must be included along with emailed document).
1. Title Page.
The title page of the original manuscript should include the title of the
manuscript, full name of the author(s), academic degrees, positions, and
institutional affiliations. The corresponding author's address and
telephone number should be given. An abbreviated title for use as
a running head should also be included. The title page of the three
copies should contain only the manuscript title. No author's names
or affiliations should appear. These copies are sent to peer reviewers.
2. Text. Simple,
straightforward writing -- concise, logical and clear -- is best.
Technical articles should include an introduction, body, practical applications
sections and references. The practical applications section uses
technical information to establish guidelines for the volleyball coach.
3. References:
Accuracy of references is the responsibility of the author. All references
should be numbered and alphabetized by last name of the lead author.
Each reference listed must be cited in the text. Journal titles should
not be abbreviated.
4. Illustrations
and Photographs. Electronic files preferred on Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
in .tiff, .jpeg or .gif format. Also submit tables, charts, drawings
and graphs on separate sheets, prepared with black ink on good bond paper.
All graphics must be of good technical quality. Coaching Volleyball
editors encourage authors to submit clear and sharp black and white glossy
photographs to illustrate the content of the article. Include full
identification of all art, labeling by figure/table number, article title
and author. Photo credits should be attached to the back of photos.
