The AVCA has established committees to help give the membership an opportunity to give back to the association and the sport, and to have its voice heard. They all have regular conversations on ways to help and grow volleyball in their respective areas. Many of them are coaches committees that discuss pertinent topics relative to their specific level (NCAA DI, NCAA DII, NCAA DIII, Men’s, NAIA, Assistant Coaches and Two Year College). Those coaches committee chairs serve on the AVCA Board of Directors, and hold monthly phone calls with their fellow HCC members. Typically, each member of the coaches committee is a representative from their conference. Other committees help with various parts of the AVCA including Education/Publications, Minority Coaches, Coaches 4 Coaches, Recruiting Task Force and the First Time Convention Attendee Committee.
The committees are vital to the success of volleyball as a whole. With these active coaches volunteering their time to help the greater good, they all deserve a high-five from the volleyball community.
If you are interested in joining any of the committees, please email the appropriate staff member or email@example.com.
The AVCA Diversity Development Team was formed in August, 2016. This new team is committed to the development of minority volleyball coaches and to the diversity initiatives of the AVCA.
The Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship provides coaches and former athletes the ability to attend their first AVCA Convention. Scholarships awarded will cover the costs of convention registration and hotel.
Head Coaches Committees
Members of NCAA DI, NCAA DII, NCAA DIII, Men’s, NAIA, Assistant Coaches and Two Year College each have their own head coaches committee that can on a conference call once per month to discuss issues pertinent to their level. Typically, each member of the coaches committee is a representative from their conference.
Award recognition is one of the pillars of the AVCA, so there are countless opportunities to be involved in one of our many awards committees, including the Hall of Fame. If you're interested in joining one or multiple, please email awards manager Brad Wilson at Bradley.Wilson@avca.org.
