Two-Year College Coach of the Year

PHIL NICKEL, DALLAS COLLEGE EASTFIELD

• Made quite a splash in his first full season on the sidelines at Dallas Eastfield
• Coming off an eight-win campaign in 2022, Nickel’s Harvester Bees went 35-0, dropped only six sets, and won this year’s NJCAA Division III national title
• Team opened the season unranked before moving up to the No. 1-spot in the poll in Week 5 as they made the historical run
• Helped four of his players earn All-American honors in 2023
• Also named national Coach of the Year for NJCAA Division III

 

Two-Year College Assistant Coach of the Year

LANA MILNER, COWLEY COLLEGE

• Enjoyed a great sixth season as an assistant coach at Cowley
• Helped the Tigers win the 2023 NJCAA Division II Championship
• Team was very dominate, going 41-0 and losing only five sets all season, two of which were in the final against Scottsdale CC
• Main responsibilities include recruiting, coaching the setters, scouting, and strength and conditioning
