New for 2025, the AVCA is naming a Player of the Year for boys high school volleyball. The first recipient of the new award is Grayson Bradford of Mira Costa (CA) High School.

- Bradford earns the first-ever AVCA Boys Player of the Year award following an outstanding senior campaign.
- The 6-11 right side helped Mira Costa High School earn the 2025 high school boys volleyball national championship by finishing the season as the top-ranked team in the final AVCA/USA TODAY SPORTS Super 25 Poll.
- The Mustangs moved to No. 1 in the second poll of 2025, and they never relinquished the top spot.
- Bradford led the team to a 37-2 record and the 2025 CIF Division I state title.
- He finished the season with a .414 hitting percentage on 253 kills, and he recorded 73 blocks and 15 aces.
