MAKENNA NOLD, CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY-ST. PAUL, RS, SO.
- Nold becomes Concordia-St. Paul’s second AVCA Division II Player of the Year, joining Maggie McNamara, who won the award in 2008 and 2009.
- The sophomore lit it up in last weekend’s NCAA Central Regional, posting double-doubles in all three matches and recording a career-high 26 kills in the Golden Bears’ five-set regional final win over St. Cloud State.
- That victory punched 29-5 Concordia-St. Paul’s ticket to the quarterfinal round of the 2025 NCAA Championship.
- After the regional, Nold averages 4.27 kills per set and 5.24 points per set, and she has double-doubles—kills and digs—in 15 of the team’s 34 matches.
- In addition to her offensive excellence, the right side has 312 digs (2.68 D/S average) and 101 blocks (0.87 B/S average).
- The AVCA Player of the Year honor adds to a long list of awards she has earned in her two collegiate seasons. She was the NSIC Player of the Year and AVCA Central Region Player of the Year in 2025 and the 2024 NSIC and AVCA Central Region Freshman of the Year.
2025 Stats (as of Dec. 9): 496 Kills, 5.24 P/S, .270 Hitting %, 312 Digs, 101 Total Blocks, and 49 Aces
