Two-Year College Coach of the Year
MARY FRAHM, HEARTLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE
- The veteran coach earns her first AVCA national Coach of the Year award.
- Frahm and the Hawks improved on a third place at the 2024 NJCAA Division II National Championship, by winning the school’s first-ever volleyball championship this season.
- Heartland finished the year 40-4, and they only dropped one set at the 2025 national tournament, where they swept two-time defending champ Cowley in the semifinals.
- Frahm’s team faced a difficult schedule again this year, and 18 of the team’s 40 winscame against teams ranked in the NJCAA polls.
- Another highlight of her sixth season as Heartland was her earning her 150th career victory as a head coach.
Two-Year College Assistant Coach of the Year
NOLAN McDANIEL, CLEVELAND STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
- McDaniel stepped into the role of acting head coach for the entire season while his sister and head coach, Peyton, was deployed to Iraq serving our country.
- He led the 2025 team to unprecedented heights, as the Cougars went undefeated in regional play and captured the program’s first-ever conference title.
- Five players he worked with this season earned all-conference honors. Three of them were on the TCCAA first team, and the other two made the second team.
- In addition to becoming the school’s first national volleyball coach of the year honoree, McDaniel as was the TCCAA Coach of the Year.
