AVCA NAIA Men’s Coach of the Year
JARED GOLDBERG, THE MASTER’S UNIVERSITY
- It has been another memorable season for the Mustangs under the 2026 AVCA NAIA Coach of the Year.
- Goldberg, who is in his sixth season at The Master’s, had led this year’s squad to a 22-1 record and another berth in the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Championship.
- On March 14, he picked up his 100th career coaching win when the Mustangs swept Park University Gilbert.
- His career record at The Master’s is 110-27 heading into this week’s NAIA Championship, and his teams have gone a combined 75-4 the past three seasons.
- This is the second time in the past three years Goldberg has earned AVCA NAIA Coach of the Year honors.
- In each of the last four seasons, one of his players has been the AVCA Player of the Year for NAIA men’s volleyball. The 2026 recipient is Isaac Seltzer.

AVCA NAIA Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year
GUS TUANIGA, WESTCLIFF UNIVERSITY
- By earning this award, Tuaniga is the first coach from Westcliff to become an AVCA Coach or Assistant Coach of the Year for NAIA men’s volleyball.
- He helped the team post a number of firsts in 2026, including earning both the regular-season and Cal Pac tournament titles for the first time in school history.
- The No. 7 Warriors head to the 2026 NAIA Men’s Volleyball Championship with a 20-4 record—those 20 wins are a program single-season record—and they have won 13 matches in a row
- Tuaniga worked with Thiago Silva, who earned AVCA NAIA second-team All-America honors to become the program’s first AVCA All-American.
- In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he operates a nonprofit club program dedicated to supporting athletes who face financial barriers to competing and being recruited at the collegiate level.
