The AVCA is excited to name the 30 players who are on the Preseason Watch List for its 2026 Division I Player of the Year Award, presented by Nike Volleyball.
The names will be revealed from July 28 to 30 in three groups of 10 players each day. There is no order to which list players are on, except that all of a school’s candidates will appear the same day.
The Preseason Watch List was compiled by the AVCA Division I Women’s Volleyball Awards Committee. Those coaches will also be the group working on this through the additional phases of the Player of the Year process, which include:
- Midseason addition of players [October]
- Semifinalists [November]
- Finalists [likely Dec. 14]
- Player of the Year reveal in San Antonio at the AVCA Awards Banquet [Dec. 18]
Player of the Year Watch List Group 1 — (to be released July 28)
Player of the Year Watch List Group 2 — (to be released July 29)
Player of the Year Watch List Group 3 — (to be released July 30)
