HILIR HENNO, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE
- Henno joins Jayson Jablonsky (2006) as the only Anteaters to earn the AVCA MVB National Collegiate Player of the Year award. He becomes one of six UC Irvine student-athletes across all sports to be tabbed National Player of the Year.
- He is the catalyst behind UC Irvine making its eighth NCAA Championship appearance. The Anteaters have been in the top 5 of the AVCA/NVA Poll 12 weeks this season, including the last 10.
- The most dynamic hitter in the nation, Henno owns a .386 hitting percentage, which is seventh overall and the best by a pin hitter. He has hit .400 or better 17 times this season.
- The Big West Player of the Year is second in the kills (4.72) and points (5.47) per set nationally.
- The junior has recorded double figure kills in every match this season and had 20 or more kills on 10 occasions. He put away a career-high 36 kills in a non-conference meeting with Hawai‘i, the second most kills in the country in 2024.
- He recorded an ace in all but six matches and currently leads the Big West with a 0.43 assists-per-set average. He is the Big West career leader in aces with 179 and is second among current Division I players with a 0.605 career aces-per-set mark.
