The beach volleyball community heads to Huntsville, Alabama, this week for the 2025 AVCA Beach National Championships. The event, which takes place Friday to Sunday, includes a women’s pairs national championship and a men’s team championship.

“We are excited to again be bringing the best collegiate beach volleyball players to Huntsville for this year’s National Championship,” said Dr. Jaime Gordon, AVCA CEO. “Between the 64 women’s pairs and the four men’s teams, it will be an exciting weekend featuring excellent competition.”

The women’s championship features a 64-pair bracket—no pool play—and matches start on Friday and go through Sunday’s 12:45 PM ET final. Schools earned bids in three ways: performance in the 2025 spring season, top finishes at qualifying events held over the past six weeks, and being one of the at-large selections.

Play in the men’s team championship starts Saturday, and the four competing schools are Liberty, Erskine, Stevenson, and Webber International. Bracket play takes place on Sunday, with the championship match happening at 2 PM ET.

Again this year, key matches from the AVCA Beach National Championships will be streamed. Six matches from the women’s pairs event—two of the quarterfinals, both semifinals, the third-place match, and the championship—will be available at ESPN+. This will be the fourth year the AVCA National Beach Championships are in Huntsville. John Hunt Park, where the event takes place, includes state-of-the-art volleyball complex with 15 courts.
