The AVCA is very pleased to announce the results of its 2025 Board of Directors election. There were four seats on the ballot this year, and those elected include:
Skinner and Lenhart will join the Board for the first time, while Zidek and Wilson return to the Board after being incumbent candidates. Skinner will become president in 2027, and the other three begin three-year terms.
Since becoming the Kentucky head coach in 2004, Skinner has taken the program to unprecedented heights. His team won the 2020 NCAA Championship, the school’s first national volleyball title, and he was the 2021 AVCA Division I Coach of the Year. Heading into the 2025 season, he’d led the Wildcats to eight consecutive SEC titles.
Zidek, who begins her second term on the Board in 2026, was named the sixth head coach in DePaul volleyball history prior to the 2018 season. Last year’s Blue Demon squad went 21-14, reached the BIG EAST Tournament for the third time in the last four years, and became the first team to eclipse the 20-win barrier in the past two decades.
Now in her seventh season as the head women’s coach at Cornerstone, Lenhart recently earned her 150th victory at the NAIA school. Four of her last five times have won 20 or matches, including the 2022 season when the team posted 34 victories and advanced to the NAIA Championship.
Wilson, who filled the vacated Assistant Coaches Representative seat in mid-2025, begins her first full Board term. The former LSU volleyball player is in her fourth season back in Baton Rouge. In 2022, she helped the Tigers return to the NCAA Championship, where they beat Hawai‘i 3-1 in the first round.
Effective Jan. 1, 2026, these four coaches become part of the AVCA Board, which includes a blend of elected representatives and appointed members.
