It is a huge weekend for women’s professional volleyball in the United States. The first-ever LOVB Classic is taking place this Friday to Sunday (Feb. 14–16) in Kansas City, Missouri, at Municipal Auditorium.
The seven-match, in-season tournament brings together all of the new pro league’s teams, with seeds being based on current standings. Fans will see the Olympic medalists, NCAA champions, and AVCA All-Americans, who highlight the rosters of the six teams.
Action gets underway Friday with Madison facing Houston, then Austin taking on Salt Lake. The winners advance to Saturday’s semifinals, where the top two seeds—Atlanta and Omaha—await.
All six teams play on Sunday in three play-to-place matches, which will conclude with the championship match at 8:30pm Eastern on ESPN2. The rest of the matches throughout the weekend will be on ESPN+.
The LOVB Classic is being held in conjunction with the Triple Crown NIT, the nation’s premier junior volleyball tournament. By joining the two events, it provides a unique volleyball environment with junior and professional athletes competing side-by-side that gives junior club athletes and their families a true taste of what’s possible for their volleyball careers.
All-session and single-day passes for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday’s action are available through Ticketmaster.
