LA Times: Meet the UCLA softball legend influencing U.S. women’s volleyball’s success Sue Enquist turned into U.S. women’s volleyball’s secret weapon. The UCLA softball legend joined the national volleyball team as a culture consultant in advance of the Tokyo Olympics and helped set the foundation for the team to win its first Olympic gold medal. Now in Paris, Enquist is instilling her leadership philosophies to help the United States chase another Olympic title.
NCAA.org: Gold medalist Jordyn Poulter looks to grow volleyball back home Before the groundbreaking LOVB season starts, Poulter looks to Paris to repeat Olympic gold and come back from a devastating knee injury that took her out for the entire 2023 professional season. She’s learned to view the sport through a new perspective.
The NCAA will offer member schools post-eligibility injury insurance coverage for student-athletes beginning August 1, 2024. The coverage will be for two years after student-athletes complete their college athletics experience and will cover injuries that occur while playing for their school.

More than 100 girls and boys athletes were at Dockweiler Beach, Playa del Rey, California, on July 29-Aug. 1 for the 2024 USAV Beach National Team Development Program Summer Training Series. This training gives junior and collegiate beach volleyball athletes the chance to practice with and compete against some of the best athletes in the United States while receiving guidance from top coaches.
Nominations for the 2024 AVCA Junior Beach All-American Awards are open through August 9! The AVCA plans to select eight (8) 1st Team All-Americans and eight (8) 2nd Team All-Americans. The selected athletes must be athletes that will begin college in Fall of 2024 or Spring of 2025.
Nominate your top high school athletes for a chance to be recognized when the Watch Lists are released in August. Uncommitted athletes on watch lists will also be invited to attend the AVCA Phenom College Prep Program December 19-21, 2024, in Louisville, KY.

Four of the nation’s top collegiate volleyball teams – Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, and Wisconsin – will open the 2024 women’s season at the AVCA First Serve Showcase on Aug. 27 in Louisville, KY at the KFC Yum! Center, the same venue where the NCAA DI Women’s Volleyball National Championship will be held in December. Click here to learn more.
Interested parties can get a group ticket code! Organizations whose members purchase over 20 tickets using the code will receive a donation of 15 percent of the costs from the AVCA after the event.

Northwest University’s third season of beach volleyball welcomes a familiar face into a new role as Meng Bak takes the title of head coach.
The Citadel has officially announced a four-year contract extension for head volleyball coach Dave Zelenock. This past year, Zelenock led the Bulldogs to a 27-4 overall and 14-2 conference record, and first-ever regular-season conference title.
Colorado head coach Jesse Mahoney’s contract was extended through the 2027 season. Mahoney is in his ninth year as head coach of the CU volleyball team and has led the Buffs to a 128-109 (.540) record and three NCAA appearances.
