University of San Diego Athletics will add women’s beach volleyballand begin competition in the spring of 2027, becoming the eight school in the West Coast Conference to sponsor the sport.
The NCAA National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship will likely remain in Gulf Shores through 2031 thanks to a new agreement between the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and Alabama’s Beaches Sports & Events (AB Sports & Events). Read more.

2025 USMC/AVCA Battles Won Award The AVCA and US Marine Corps are looking to recognize a volleyball coach and athlete who overcame a significant obstacle during the past year. The selected winners will be provided round trip travel to the AVCA Convention this December in Kansas City, MO to be recognized at the event. Nominations are due Friday, August 15.
