The AVCA is proud to announce its 2025 Girls High School Player of the Year Watch List, presented by Nike Volleyball. This year’s list is comprised of 38 players from 19 states. The AVCA will announce four National Player of the Year finalists on November 18, in conjunction with the 2025 AVCA Girls High School All-America team reveal. The 2025 AVCA Girls High School National Player of the Year will be announced on Friday, December 19, during the AVCA All-America Banquet in Kansas City, MO.

This period is set aside girls and women’s volleyball teams to make sure our officials know they are an important part of our sport. 2025 AVCA Boy’s Talent Showcase – Register today! This recruiting event provides high school boys the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of collegiate coaches who attend the AVCA Convention. The AVCA will also be offering an athlete skills clinic.
Registration for the 2025 AVCA Phenom College Prep Program is open! The program is for uncommitted girls athletes on the AVCA Phenom Watch List or AVCA All-America Watch List. Athletes/parents should check their inbox for their unique link. If you need assistance, contact the AVCA.
Collegiate Volleyball
Save the Date: Collegiate All-Region/All-America Nominations
Fan interest in Wisconsin’s volleyball program is reaching historic new levels, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s John Steppe, who notes that UW has the best average attendance in the country as of September 23 with 8,620 fans flocking to the Field House or Kohl Center per match.
The Big Ten Conference and Big Ten Network announced they are launching the Discover In-Season Volleyball Challenge. Each team will play five designated challenge matches throughout October, with the winner determined by the highest win total across the five games.
The Big 12 Conference has added three affiliate members in beach volleyball for the 2025-26 academic year. Boise State, Florida State and South Carolina will join Arizona, Arizona State and TCU in the Conference’s beach volleyball league.
2025 Beach NTDP Fall Training Series Rosters Announced USA Volleyball’s Beach National Team Development Program returns to Virginia Beach Sept. 27-28. The series will have four training sessions for Boys and Girls U19 and Boys and Girls U17.
Submissions now accepted for the 2025 AVCA Victory Club! Celebrate your milestone career wins – High School and Collegiate (women’s, men’s, girls, boys, indoor and beach). AVCA member head coaches are eligible for recognition at the 2025 AVCA Convention.

Professional Volleyball
For the first time, the Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Championship will split its action between two locations, Omaha and Madison. Over four weeks, 44 of the world’s best players will compete in a high-stakes format that crowns a single champion. With a mix of Olympians, national team standouts, and stars from top pro leagues, the 2025 field is loaded with talent.
USA Volleyball has selected 17 athletes for the first-ever U17 Girls National Team, which will compete at the 2025 NORCECA Women’s U17 Continental Championship, set for Nov. 4-9 in San Jose, Costa Rica.
