Senior athletes will be added to AVCA Boys High School All-America Watch List.
Non-senior high school athletes will be featured on the AVCA High Risers List.

This month’s AVCA #InspireSportsmanship featured story highlights the incredible unity shown by the volleyball teams at Eastern Montgomery High School and Roanoke Catholic School (VA). In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, these teams came together to honor Holly King, a beloved teacher who tragically lost her life during Hurricane Helene. Their act of wearing green, Holly’s favorite color, and holding a moment of silence at a recent game demonstrates the profound impact of sportsmanship and solidarity.WATCH VIDEO.
A 15-year-old volleyball player, Amanda Sylvester of the Dream Chasers volleyball club, who tragically passed away two months ago was honored at Gateway Center Arena before a League One Volleyball (LOVB) matchup last week. The tribute highlighted her passion for the sport and the impact she had on her community.
The GHVCA also announced its new logo. This modern design reflects the GHVCA’s unwavering commitment to fostering the sport of volleyball, its players, and coaches within dynamic and culturally rich Greater Houston.
Illinois (IVCA)

Kylie Corneliusen (Mill Valley) was recently selected as the Kansas Coaches Association Coach of the Year (COY) for volleyball in Kansas. She will be in the running for the regional COY, and if chosen, in the running for National COY from the NFHS.
The KVA all-star match will be held June 7. The all star teams will be chosen in the next few weeks.
Kentucky (KVCA)
The Pulaski County boys’ volleyball team, set to compete in the first KHSAA-sanctioned season this spring, recently hosted a men’s volleyball skills clinic with assistance from both UK and EKU’s club teams.

On February 15, the NC Boys High School Volleyball (NCBVA) announced 108 committed boys volleyball teams statewide. While the number needs to be sustained for two years, this exciting news puts them very close to the 110 schools needed for an official sanctioning vote.
The annual Texas Coaches Leadership Summit was held on February 24, at the Esports Stadium(Arlington, TX). The summit included presentations for coaches on leadership, team building, work life balance and more.

The 2025 AVCA First Serve will feature a star-studded lineup of 10 Division I women’s volleyball teams, who will play in a series of matches at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Aug. 22–24, and at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Aug. 25.Check out the matchups here!

Reminder that if your membership is not renewed before the expiration date, your account will enter EXPIRED status. This includes limited access to the AVCA website and services for up to one year. Note – Expired members may NOT nominate for AVCA awards! If you still haven’t renewed after a year in expired status, you will not receive any AVCA member benefits until you rejoin.
Multiple contacts by one player attempting to play the ball will now be allowed on second contact if the next contact is by a teammate on the same side of the net. This elimination of a judgment call by officials highlights the 2025-26 high school volleyball rules changes.
