Dorman HS and Lexington HS (SC) made headlines in a rare school‑day rematch of the 2024 SC state final, played at 2 p.m. before a crowd of over 3,000 students, many of whom were experiencing their first-ever live volleyball match.
The event highlighted the rich culture and welcoming environment embedded in Dorman’s volleyball program under NFHS Hall of Fame Coach Paula Kirkland, now in her 45th year coaching and fresh off her 17th state championship. Lexington’s Head Coach Erica Hardin identified student-involvement from both schools as the critical role in making this matchup possible, filling the day with positive interactions and a sense of community.
