Watch as Fort Bend Elkins High School (TX) Head Volleyball Coach Jamie Gill, who previously coached at Pearland High School (TX), explains the “Blocking Coverage Boards Drill.”(opens in new tab) This drill is designed to focus on hitter coverage, communication, discipline, and even out-of-system play. Each rep provides a slightly different perspective on a skill where hitters learn to trust their teammates behind them.
The ability to successfully execute a coverage ball and earn a point always builds positive momentum.
Thank you to Coach Gill and the Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association (GHVCA), an AVCA Signature Affiliate Partner, for sharing this drill video.
