The AVCA is pleased to announce its 2025 recipients of the Coaches 4 Coaches, Student-Athlete Demonstrator, and Vong Foundation Endowment scholarships. Through these three programs—and the recently announced AVCA T.E.A.M. Awards—97 coaches and players will get to experience this December’s AVCA Convention for free.
“It is exciting for us to be bringing even more coaches and future coaches to Kansas City next month,” said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. “We are very appreciative to everyone in the volleyball community who has contributed to the scholarship programs and made it possible for a record-number of recipients to join us at the 2025 Convention.”
During the event, which takes place Dec. 17-21, the scholarship winners will participate in a series of educational seminars—many of which focus on professional and personal development for coaches—and take part in additional networking and relationship-building sessions.
Coaches 4 Coaches
This member-funded scholarship program was conceived 17 years ago as a way to help provide a head start for young coaches and recent college graduates who were interested in coaching volleyball. This year’s 16 Coaches 4 Coaches recipients become part of an extensive fellowship of more than 190 program alums, many who have gone on to successful coaching careers.

Demonstrator Scholarships
The AVCA is also bringing 36 college volleyball players to its Convention to serve as demonstrators for on-court educational sessions during the event. One of the factors in the selection of the demonstrators was their interest in pursuing a coaching career, and these student-athletes will have a chance to engage with veteran leaders to learn more about the professional.
2025 Recipients
Another coach who will attend the Convention is Shyne Mon, the girls volleyball coach at the Marymount School of New York. Mon is receiving the recipient of the 2025 Vong Family Endowment Scholarship, which was started by Sandy Vong and his children in 2021 as a continuation of their love for the sport.
