2025 AVCA High School Awards
The AVCA recently completed its announcement of its 2025 Boys High School Awards. See the winners below.
AVCA Boys Volleyball Player of the Year
New for 2025, the AVCA is naming a Player of the Year for boys high school volleyball. The first recipient of the new award is Grayson Bradford of Mira Costa (CA) High School. The 6-11 right side helped Mira Costa High School earn the 2025 USA Today/AVCA High School Boys Volleyball National Championship. He finished the season with a .414 hitting percentage on 253 kills, and he recorded 73 blocks and 15 aces.
Jordan Vidovic of Marist High School in Chicago is the 2025 Boys High School Coach of the Year. He guided the RedHawks to many milestones in 2025, and the team finished the season 40-2 after winning a second straight Illinois boys volleyball state title.
Also recognized, were the four Boys High School Region Coaches of the Year:
Midwest Region – Jordan Vidovic, Marist High School (IL)
Northeast Region – Bill Kropp, Eastport South Manor High School (NY)
South Region – Tracy Stevens, Green Hill High School (TN)
West Region – Greg Snyder, Mira Costa High School (CA)
The AVCA is proud to announce its 18th annual High School All-America Teams for boys volleyball. For the first time, the teams include non-seniors, and again only players whose high school head coaches are AVCA members were eligible for nomination. There are 10 players on the first team, 10 on the second team, and eight honorable mention selections. This year’s group of 28 student-athletes are from 23 high schools in eight different states and one Canadian province.
The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) has announced the addition of NCAA Division-II members Jessup University and the University of California, Merced men’s volleyball teams to the conference, beginning with the upcoming 2026 season.
The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday the University of Jamestown will join the league as an associate member in men’s volleyball, in the inaugural 2025-26 season.

Frontier High School to Host Outdoor Matches
History will be made on September 6 when Frontier High School will host rival Hamburg in the first sanctioned high school boys and girls volleyball match to be held outdoors in New York State. It is also believed to be the first sanctioned high school boys volleyball match to be played outdoors in the USA.
All-Minnesota Sports Awards Difference-Maker Winners: Krista Flemming and Jenny Kilkelly
Without the dedication and drive of Shakopee volleyball supporters Krista Flemming and Jenny Kilkelly, the MSHSL’s sanctioning of boys volleyball may never have happened.
The U.S. Men’s National Team finished the second week of Volleyball Nations League (VNL) with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-18) loss to Italy at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The U.S. squad split four matches during the week, just as it did in the first week of VNL. Italy advanced to 6-2.
The U.S. (4-4) will face Türkiye (2-6) to open the final preliminary week of VNL play in Chiba, Japan on July 16.
The U.S. Boys U19 National Team earned its second straight win at the 2025 NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup with a commanding 3-0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-17) sweep over Canada on Wednesday in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
The U.S. (2-0) will continue pool play tomorrow, Thursday, July 10th at 3:00 p.m. PT against Puerto Rico.
The U.S. Men’s Sitting National Team captured the gold medal at the 2025 Dutch Tournament with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-22) victory over Türkiye on Sunday in Assen, Netherlands.
