The AVCA Best & Brightest Award is an award meant to honor individual high school Senior student-athletes who excel on and off the court. To be eligible for the Best and Brightest Award, Senior student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.5 Unweighted/4.0 Weighted GPA (or the equivalent, if using a different GPA scale) during their junior year AND play in 50% of their varsity team’s sets during their senior season.
AVCA All-America awards will be announced Wednesday, June 24.
2026 AVCA Team Academic Award Nominations Now Accepted
In order for a team to earn the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award, the entire team must achieve a minimum TEAM cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale) or an 82.0 (on a 100-point scale) during the entire 2025-2026 academic year.

USA Volleyball has announced the 26 athletes selected to the 2026 Beach Collegiate National Team (BCNT), featuring 13 women and 13 men. The athletes will participate in a training block June 8-17 in Hermosa Beach, Calif., where they will train alongside USA Volleyball’s Beach National Team Program athletes and coaches.

The Roncalli boys team won their fifth-straight state championship (and second IHSAA sanctioned) after defeating Indianapolis Cathedral 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-13) on Saturday night at Lawrence North High School.
In the championship match, Glenbard West came back from a deficit midway through set three to win the state title with a 25-19, 22-25, 25-20 victory over Oak Park-River Forest. It was the sixth state title win in the last 11 years for the Hilltoppers, all under coach Christine Giunta-Mayer.
Grand Haven Captures First-Ever Michigan State Title
Grand Haven boys volleyball is the first-ever Division 1 boys volleyball state champions. The Bucs topped Lake Orion in four sets, 25-19, 25-11, 29-31 and 25-19.
The Moeller High School volleyball team is the Ohio state champion. Moeller defeated Hudson in the Division I boys volleyball state final Saturday afternoon at Wittenberg University. Moeller beat Hudson 31-29, 25-11 and 25-21.
