The AVCA announced its 2026 All-Region teams and award winners for Division III Men’s Volleyball. Each of the four region teams includes 14 players, and a Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Coach of the Year were selected for each region.
The 2026 AVCA Division III All-America teams will be revealed next Monday.
AVCA NC Player of the Year Semifinalists Announced
Earlier this month, the AVCA revealed the eight athletes named as AVCA National Collegiate Player of the Year Semifinalists. That group includes six hitters and two setters, and UCLA leads the way with three players on the list. Ball State, Hawai‘i, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, and USC each have one Semifinalist.
The championship bracket was revealed during a selection show on Monday, April 13. Ten teams will participate in a play-in today before the second round takes place tomorrow. The final is on Saturday, April 25 at Blake Arena in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The AVCA is currently accepting nominations for AVCA All-America for Men’s NAIA. Nominations are due to be completed by next Monday, April 20. Make sure to reference the 2026 List of NAIA Nationally Ranked Teams to complete your nominations.

AVCA Spring Officials Appreciation Week Was Record Breaking
206 participants in 39 states made it a record-setting AVCA Spring Volleyball #OFFICIATIONWEEK2026! This year’s springtime total tops the previous record of 186 participants in 38 states set in 2025. Thanks to those that took part: pro; NCAA DI-II-III men’s; NAIA men’s; club; beach; middle and high school boys; elementary and middle school girls; and coaches and officials associations.
Submit a proposal to be considered as a speaker for on-court, beach court or classroom presentations at the AVCA Annual Convention. The application window will close on May 11.
FrogJump announced the finalists for its End of Year Awards. These awards seek to recognize the Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker, Setter, Opposite, and Libero who had the best performances in NCAA DIII men’s volleyball.
The NTDP announced the 21-athlete roster for the 2026 Men’s U19 National Team, gearing up for the 2026 U19 Men’s Continental Championship. 14 players will be selected for the final competition roster.
Rob Espero continues his weekly men’s volleyball show with insights of recent results with coaches Jay Hosack, Theo Edwards, Nickie Sanlin, and Brad Rostratter.
The show featured Dan Friend discussing the NCAA men’s volleyball tournament and conference standings. Dan provided insights on the expanded 12-team bracket, explaining how the selection committee considers factors like RPI, KPI, strength of schedule, and geography when determining host sites and seedings.
The 2026 First Point Invitational took over Austin from March 26–30, bringing together 32 teams from 23 states in a celebration of boys’ high school volleyball unlike any other.
Michigan Boys Volleyball Growing Wide as Newly Sanctioned Sport
The Michigan High School Athletic Association added boys volleyball this season after schools across the state expressed interest in sponsorship from the organization. Boys volleyball in Michigan started as a club sport in 2018 with four schools on the west side of the state: Allendale, Grand Rapids Christian, Grand Haven, and Kalamazoo Christian. This season 118 teams will compete for the first MHSAA state championship.
