Mira Costa Are the 2025 National Champions
Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California ends the 2025 spring season as the #1 ranked team on the USA Today/AVCA Super 25. Mira Costa finished the season with at 37-2 record and the 2025 CIF State Championship. Mira Costa’s only two losses came to perennial power Loyola High School of Los Angeles and Marist High School in Chicago. Marist ended the season as the #2 ranked team after also only losing two matches and winning the Illinois State Championship.
USAV Foundation Merges with First Point Volleyball Foundation
The USA Volleyball Foundation, the philanthropic arm of USA Volleyball, announced today its combination with the First Point Volleyball Foundation. As part of this strategic alignment, many First Point Foundation board members will join the USA Volleyball Foundation board. Additionally, the USA Volleyball Foundation will assume all of First Point’s assets and honor its existing grant commitments.
The AVCA will be hosting two men’s college volleyball recruiting panels at AAU Boys Nationals in Orlando at the convention center. The panels will be hosted on Tuesday, July 1 and Saturday, July 5. Both panels will take place at 2pm ET in OCCC North 330. Please make plans to join us!
The 3-2 (25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 15-25, 16-14) triumph over North Kingstown is Cranston East’s first boys volleyball state championship in program history and just second boys volleyball title overall.
Coe-Brown Wins First New Hampshire State Championship
Coe-Brown (19-0) was able to neutralize Hollis-Brookline’s Cavaliers (16-3) in four sets, 25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, to win the program’s first championship.
Cumberland Valley Caps Undefeated Season with 3A PA State Championship
The Cumberland Valley Boys’ Volleyball team won the PIAA 3A State Championship over North Allegheny to go 22-0-1 on the season and claim its second state championship in program history.
Saint Ignatius defeated Thomas Worthington in a five-set thriller on Saturday to claim the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Division I boys volleyball title. The Wildcats are the first Northeast Ohio team to win a state championship in the sport since the OHSAA began sanctioning it in 2023.
In the inaugural IHSAA Boys Volleyball State Finals, the Roncalli Royals (30-3) were ready, and won the title over Cathedral 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-23) in Purdue University’s Mackey Arena.
Eden Prairie Captures First Every Minnesota State Title
The Eagles’ 21-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-20, 15-9 victory over Rogers delivered the first-ever MSHSL-sanctioned title in boys volleyball, completing what Chapek called “one of the greatest matches I have been a part of in my whole playing and coaching career.”
Southern’s boys’ volleyball team made history on Thursday, securing their eighth state title. They achieved this monumental feat by defeating No. 3 ranked Scotch Plains-Fanwood in a thrilling three-set match (25-22, 23-25, 25-23).

The U.S. Men’s National Team finished the first week of 2025 Volleyball Nations League with a 2-2 record after defeating longtime rival Cuba, 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23) on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The U.S. (2-2) will host the second week of VNL in Chicago with its first match against China (2-2) on June 25 at 5:30 p.m. PDT.
12 Boys U19 Athletes Selected for 2025 Pan American Cup
USA Volleyball has selected 12 members of the 2025 Boys U19 National Team to compete at the NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup, July 8-13, in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

USA Volleyball has selected 12 members of the 2025 Boys U19 National Team to compete at the FIVB U19 World Championship, July 24-Aug. 3, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
USAV Announces 2025 Beach Collegiate/U26 National Team
USA Volleyball is proud to announce the 31 athletes selected to the 2025 Beach Collegiate/U26 National Team. This elite group, featuring 14 men and 17 women, will participate in a 10-day training block from June 9-19 in Hermosa Beach, California.

The KP’S Top 50 2025 list celebrates outstanding volleyball players from across the United States. The list includes notable athletes and also highlights rising stars for 2026 and 2027.
2025 AVCA Boys Best and Brightest Award Winners Announced
The AVCA Best & Brightest Award is an award meant to honor individual high school Senior student-athletes who excel on and off the court. To be eligible for the Best and Brightest Award, Senior student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.5 Unweighted/4.0 Weighted GPA (or the equivalent, if using a different GPA scale) during their junior year AND play in 50% of their varsity team’s sets during their senior season. This year, the list includes over 100 impressive athletes.
In order for a team to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, the entire team must achieve a minimum TEAM cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale) or an 82.0 (on a 100-point scale) during the entire 2024-2025 academic year.
