Check out the AVCA/USA TODAY Super 25 and the AVCA/USA TODAY Regional Top 10 girls volleyball rankings as of September 1, 2023. The Super 25 National Rankings are based on the 2022-23 season and determined by AVCA member coaches. Regions are determined by the AVCA.
The top three in this first regular-season Super 25 are Mira Costa (CA), followed by Prestonwood Christian (TX) and Mater Dei (CA).
Volleyball has been the No. 1 sport for high school girls since 2015, according to National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) survey results. Participation in all high school sports eclipsed 7.8 million in the 2022-23 school year, reflecting a sharp increase from the previous year. Highlights:
Girls Volleyball Participation – 470,488 (+16,335 from 2021-22)
Boys Volleyball Participation – 77,287 (+10,800 from 2021-22)
Beach Volleyballl Participation – 9,016 (+2,527 from 2021-22)
