AVCA Thirty Under 30 High School Assist “Middle System Offense” Drill with Coach Nikolai Wojciechowski (RI)

Watch as AVCA 2020 Thirty Under 30 High School Award recipient and La Salle Academy High School Head Volleyball Coach Nikolai Wojciechowski (RI) explains the “Middle System Offense Drill.” This drill helps setters on the move square up and set accurately when chasing down passes around the attack line.

AVCA/USA TODAY Super 25 National Girls High School Volleyball Rankings

Check out the AVCA/USA TODAY Super 25 and the AVCA/USA TODAY Regional Top 10 girls volleyball rankings as of September 1, 2023. The Super 25 National Rankings are based on the 2022-23 season and determined by AVCA member coaches. Regions are determined by the AVCA.

The top three in this first regular-season Super 25 are Mira Costa (CA), followed by Prestonwood Christian (TX) and Mater Dei (CA).

Volleyball: No. 1 Girls High School Team Sport

Volleyball has been the No. 1 sport for high school girls since 2015, according to National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) survey results. Participation in all high school sports eclipsed 7.8 million in the 2022-23 school year, reflecting a sharp increase from the previous year. Highlights:

• Girls Volleyball Participation – 470,488 (+16,335 from 2021-22)
• Boys Volleyball Participation – 77,287 (+10,800 from 2021-22)
• Beach Volleyballl Participation – 9,016 (+2,527 from 2021-22)
