2026 KVCA Boys All-State and Major Awards
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 12, 2026) – The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association is pleased to announce its 2026 Boys All-State Teams, Mr. Kentucky Volleyball, KVCA Boys Defensive Player of the Year and KVCA Boys Coach of the Year.
Briley Codey of Saint Xavier High School in Louisville is the 2026 Mr. Kentucky Volleyball for the second straight year. Codey, a senior outside hitter, has led the Tigers as a pin hitter. As of May 10, Codey is 5th in the state in kills per set with 4.01 and 269 kills total. Codey is the only athlete to be named KVCA Mr. Kentucky Volleyball in the brief history of the award.
Junior libero, Wyatt Bourke of Oldham County High School is the 2026 KVCA Boys Defensive Player of the Year. Bourke receives the award after achieving over 220 digs this season and helping his team reach the KHSAA State Tournament. Bourke is the first athlete awarded the KVCA Boys Defensive Player of the Year to a student-athlete at Oldham County High School.
Coach Heather Kidd of Ryle High School is the 2026 KVCA Boys Coach of the Year. Kidd has coached the Tigers to a 17-3 record and a Region 6 Championship. Ryle’s season continues Friday as they take on St. Xavier in the KHSAA Boy Volleyball State Tournament Quarterfinals.
KVCA All-State Teams are voted on by KVCA member coaches.
