Empowering Athletes to Become More Consistent Float Serve Receivers

I spent 13 years living overseas as a professional libero and even though I improved with each year, I still felt a heavy weight of anxiety over my inconsistent results with float serve reception. After being bench in my 9th year as a professional, I began writing about the libero position, realizing that there were many circumstances on the court where I didn't know exactly how to be great, consistently. This realization pushed me to start studying the best liberos in the world with the goal to find successful patterns in areas where I was struggling. Using my discernment, I began implementing new concepts and techniques one by one. My confidence grew and my stats rose as well, finding myself sharing more and more about what I studying and implementing in real time. This moment spurred me to create noezybuckets, a business that aims to show all the different principles and concepts used throughout the volleyball world by the players who are evolving the sport in real time.

Specific topics to be addressed include:

1. Why I started implementing the split step, common mistakes to teaching it and a clear pathway on how to teach it to young athletes so they can take more autonomy towards tracking float serves.

2. Pocket Passing: A lot of athletes are doing their best to pass float serves but rarely get the angle and/or trajectory that they want. I show from toss to serve, how I believe coaches can give their athletes a bigger foundation of success in handling low, flat float serves.

3. Attacking the ball: Common misconceptions about how we contact the serve and lessons I learned in Brazil, working with the 2016 Olympic MVP, Serginho Escadinha
