Engaging Ways to Enhance Volleyball IQ and Decision Making

Volleyball is a visual motor sport, so being able to read the situation occuring in front of the athlete, make a decision and execute is the most important skill of the game, and so part of our project as a coaching staff is to develop this ability. Using concepts used in Soccer with Rondo and other small sided situations to increase athletes awareness of the court, the situation in front of them, and how best to react. In our gym, a lot of this comes from small sided games and rules that we can enter to create a certain type of situation for athletes to build their decision making processes for future situations that may occur in game like environments.
