Running consistent, competitive, and efficient practices can be a major challenge, especially at the youth and club levels where team size, court space, and attendance often fluctuate. Over 31 years of coaching at every level—from high school to NCAA Division I—I've developed and refined three core drills that have become essential in my training toolbox. These drills are adaptable, high-repetition, and mentally engaging, making them ideal for teams of any size, skill level, or practice environment. This workshop will give coaches hands-on strategies to implement these drills immediately, understand the key skills they target, and track competitive performance to foster focus, accountability, and mental toughness.
Learning Objectives
1. Coaches will learn how to implement three high-rep, mentally engaging drills that adapt easily to varying team sizes, skill levels, and practice constraints.
2. Coaches will be able to identify which specific skill areas each drill enhances and how to modify intensity and complexity based on athlete development.
3. Coaches will explore simple methods to track performance and progress in these drills to increase internal competition and mental resilience.
