High School Volleyball Commandments (Presented by Gold Medal Squared)

In 2024, we were in the middle of our first ever boy's high school volleyball season in Utah. We were undefeated and ranked in the top-25 in the country, but still had work to do. Before one of our practices, I wrote "Volleyball Commandments" on the whiteboard. The list included:

  • We will make 90% of our serves
  • We will stand in the right spots on defense
  • We will pass and dig balls of the net
  • We will set inside the antenna
  • We will cover our teammates

For the remainder of that season, these became our core tenets that ultimately led to us winning the first ever state championship in Utah. We talked about these five principles all the time.
