Negative Step, Positive Outcome? Unpacking the Science of First-Step Efficiency

This on-court presentation will delve into the age-old question around first step efficiency.

False step, drop step, pylo step....it goes by many names, but is it something we should be teaching, or removing?

Ed Tolentino, of App State, will be working through those questions with David Gil, head of sports science with VERT, to review the latest research on the topic.

Athletes will run through drills specifically designed to prevent the faults in initial movement that make the difference between a dig or a point for the other team. Most importantly, Ed and David will go over what can be done to ensure the fastest and most efficient first step possible for every athlete.
