Putting Players Under Pressure at Practice (presented by USA Volleyball)

Pressure is an innate part of high level sports, no one can escape it, but you can train it and become better at managing it. This session will touch on
how to create pressure in practice during sideout and serving. Handling pressure is a skill we need to have our athletes practice. It may never mimic match point in an Olympic final exactly, or the final point in an NCAA championship, but we can get as close as possible. In this sand session we will talk about effective mindsets for approaching pressure filled situations and will go over some drills to replicate that pressure.
Objectives
1. Learn effective mindsets for handling pressure and tools to help athletes manage it.
2. Discuss drill creation for learning how to handle pressure better.
3. Observe pressure drills live on sand.
