Hello Alabama high school volleyball coaches,
I hope this message finds you well and excited for this volleyball season. As the Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association (AHSVCA) continues to grow and thrive, I’m pleased to share some exciting updates to our Board of Directors that reflect our commitment to strong leadership and the continued advancement of high school volleyball in Alabama.
I will be transitioning from my current role as President to serve as the Executive Director of AHSVCA. This new position will allow me to continuing to support our mission to promote the game of volleyball, its players and coaches in the state of Alabama.
Stepping into the role of President is Pelham High School Volleyball Head Coach Perry Robinson. Perry has been instrumental in leading our Awards & Recognition Committee, and he will continue in that role while bringing to the presidency 27 years of coaching experience, a track record of competitive success, and a reputation as a trusted mentor to all coaches – new and experienced. His leadership and commitment to growing the sport make him a valuable voice for volleyball in Alabama.
We are also proud to welcome the coaches currently serving on the Awards & Recognition Committee to the AHSVCA Board of Directors. These individuals are among the most dedicated and well-regarded volleyball coaches in our state, and their expanded leadership roles will further strengthen our organization. They will continue their important work on the committee while helping guide the future of AHSVCA.
Additionally, we want to recognize and honor Julie Gordon, who will be transitioning from her role as Vice President to become an Emeritus Board Member. Julie retired this year after an incredible 40-year career as an Alabama high school volleyball coach. Her legacy and contributions to our sport are immeasurable, and we are grateful she will continue to lend her wisdom and support to AHSVCA in this honorary role.
