Volleyball 4 All is a philanthropic fund established by the AVCA to support scholarships, social programs, and grassroot initiatives. The AVCA annually supports coaches who are entering the profession, providing them with the opportunity to attend the AVCA Convention and linking them with mentorship and other professional development opportunities. After another incredible Olympic run, the U.S. Women took home the silver medal after falling to Italy in the gold medal match, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-17) on the final day of the Paris Olympics on Sunday. The Tokyo gold medalists now lead the former Soviet Union for all-time medals 7-6 and have medaled at each of the past five Olympics.
The U.S. Men’s National Team earned its third bronze medal in Olympic history with a 3-0 (25-23, 30-28, 26-24) victory over reigning world champion Italy on Friday. The U.S. also earned the bronze in 2016 in Brazil and 1992 in Barcelona. The match marked the eighth time the two countries have met in the Olympics but the first time facing off for the bronze medal.
Members of both Team USA’s volleyball teams stopped by the TODAY Show with their medals to talk about their performance at the Paris Olympics and what makes their teams successful.

Check out this article by retired AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer on why volleyball was one of the Olympics’ most underrated events during the Paris Games. “At a time when women’s sports are having a moment that is turning into a movement… I believe more than ever that volleyball should be a featured sport of the Summer Games.”
ON3: According to the NCAA’s NIL Assist dashboard, 22.7% of reported NIL deals in Power 4 women’s sports come from basketball, followed by a reported 18.5% in softball. Volleyball was next at 15.2%.
When football and basketball are removed from data, women athletes compare quite favorably to male athletes.
Division I Preseason Poll Released Aug. 19
The AVCA/TARAFLEX Division I Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll will be released Monday, Aug. 19. This year’s top 25 will be revealed on a poll release episode of “Six Rotations.” The broadcast begins at Noon (Eastern) on Six Rotations X/Twitter, and the poll will be posted on the AVCA website and social media following the show.

Only Two Weeks Until the First Serve! Four of the nation’s top collegiate volleyball teams – Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, and Wisconsin – will open the 2024 women’s season at the AVCA First Serve Showcase on Aug. 27 in Louisville, KY at the KFC Yum! Center, the same venue where the NCAA DI Women’s Volleyball National Championship will be held in December. Click here to learn more.
