NCAA Match Tickets
New for 2023: NCAA Division I Women’s Championship match has moved to a broadcast window on ABC at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, 12/17
NCAA Match Tickets are available through the AVCA to those registered for the convention
All seating will be in the lower level of Amalie Arena. Cost is $135 for semifinals (both matches) and finals, or $100 for finals only (AVCA does not expect to have semifinals only tickets)
Nominate for 2023 AVCA Junior Beach All-American Awards
The AVCA is now accepting nominations for the 2023 AVCA Junior Beach All-Americans. The AVCA plans to select eight (8) 1st Team All-Americans and eight (8) 2nd Team All-Americans. The selected athletes must be athletes that will begin college in Fall of 2023 or Spring of 2024. The athletes will be chosen based upon their successes in beach tournaments across the country. The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 11 at 3pm ET. Contact bradley.wilson@avca.org with any questions.

NCAA DI board directs council to develop plans for NIL protections
The NCAA Division I Board of Directors directed the Division I Council to develop proposals to improve the environment for student-athletes engaging in name, image and likeness activities in college sports. Among the proposals the working group will present to the council in October are rules that would:
Develop a registration process for NIL service providers (such as agents and financial advisors) and NIL entities (those who contract with student-athletes for the use of their NIL).
Create a standardized contract or standard contract terms that could include certain information to be required, including terms like fee structures and the specific activities for which athletes would be compensated.
Establish disclosure requirements for student-athletes and/or NIL entities that could serve as a resource for student-athletes and would be intended to provide transparency about NIL activities.
NCAA President Charlie Baker lays out agenda for growth, transformation with focus on serving student-athletes
NCAA President Charlie Baker released key findings of his review of the NCAA national office’s operations and the key trends facing college sports. The findings also outlined a series of goals and strategies the NCAA will undertake to achieve those goals. Baker outlined several changes he plans to carry out to ensure student-athletes experience the life-changing opportunities college sports hold for years to come.
NCAA to provide schools post-eligibility injury insurance option for student-athletes
The NCAA will offer member schools post-eligibility injury insurance coverage for student-athletes beginning Aug. 1, 2024. The coverage will be for two years after student-athletes complete their college athletics experience and will cover injuries that occur while playing for their school. The post-eligibility injury insurance program will be available to all student-athletes at all member schools in Divisions I, II and III. There will also be limited coverage for mental health care related to the documented injury. Read more.

The AVCA Phenom Watch List is for the top underclassmen high school athletes who have received some recognition for their outstanding volleyball play. All uncommitted athletes on the Phenom Watch List will be invited to participate in the AVCA Phenom College Prep Program, which will take place December 14-16, 2023, in Tampa, FL.
The AVCA High School All-America Watch List is for the top Seniors who have received some recognition for their outstanding volleyball play. These athletes must have earned some form of recognition such as, but not limited to: All-District, All-Region, All-State, PrepVolleyball Ranking List, USAV HP Volleyball Team, etc. Learn more here.

Atlanta’s Professional Volleyball Team Unveiled as the Atlanta Vibe
The Atlanta Vibe was officially announced Friday as the name of Atlanta’s professional women’s volleyball team as a part of the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF). Owner, Colleen Craig: “Having a name that resonates with our fan base and our city matters to us as we look to become a staple that is Atlanta professional sports. The name Vibe represents the energy, culture, individual and collective personalities that make up our city.” The franchise is one of the first seven teams set to play in the inaugural season of the Professional Volleyball Federation (PVF) in February 2024 with renowned head coach Todd Dagenais. 2023 NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship – Coming to West Virginia!
2023 NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship presented by USA Volleyball is coming to Charleston, West Virginia on Sept. 5-10, 2023. Teams competing at the Continental Championship will receive points toward their world rankings, which will help determine who qualifies for the 2024 Olympic Games.
