The NCAA sent out a second Q&A related to the House settlement, with more information to come at a later date. “Beginning in the 2025-26 academic year, for fall sports, schools must be at or below the roster limits prior to the first date of competition that counts for championships selection in the relevant sport. For winter and spring sports, schools must be at or below the roster limits not later than December 1 or the first contest that counts for championships selection in the relevant sport (whichever is earlier).” Full document.

The National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship will have a five-year agreement to return to Gulf Shores, Alabama, from 2027 to 2031. Capital improvements include the addition of spectator stadium seating and additional hospitality space, with continued support and upgrades to the television compound. Alabama’s Beaches Sports & Events also has committed to enhancing marketing resources and elevating the student-athlete experience. Gulf Shores hosted the first eight National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships beginning in 2016 and has set attendance records each year. Before the sport achieved NCAA championship status, the community staged the American Volleyball Coaches Association sand championships.
UTSA will break ground on its more than 53,000-square-foot Basketball and Volleyball Training Facility on December 18, which will feature two full-sized NCAA practice courts, locker rooms and a team lounge for each program, a weight room, an athletic training/hydrotherapy space, team meeting rooms and coaches offices.

Grace College repeats as theNCCAA Division I WVB Champs! Coach Katie Hill’s Lancers beat Jessup 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, and 25-13 to earn the school’s second-consecutive national title.
USA Volleyball is saddened to learn of the passing of longtime volleyball coach Matt McShane. Along with a stellar collegiate coaching career, McShane coached with numerous USA Volleyball national teams. Austin Peay State University has named Evan Amstutz, who helped lead Stephen F. Austin to conference championships in three of the last five seasons, as its head volleyball coach.
Alberto Chiaparini has been named the head coach of the Tusculum University men’s volleyball program.
McLennan Community College has hired Navy assistant coach Kyle Anema to lead its inaugural volleyball
program, which starts play in the fall of 2025.
Southeastern Louisiana University has named Amy Blanke the new head beach volleyball coach.
