The 2025 AVCA First Serve will feature a star-studded lineup of 10 Division I women’s volleyball teams, who will play in a series of matches at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Aug. 22–24, and at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Aug. 25.Check out the matchups here!
Ticket presales open this Thursday, Feb. 27, for the matches in Lincoln and on March 6 for the matches in Sioux Falls. The general public sale for both sites will begin on March 14. AVCA members – check your inbox for an exclusive presale code!
The NAIA has extended its agreement with the Tyson Events Center and the City of Sioux City, naming them hosts of the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship through 2028. Read more.
Many of the nation’s top young men’s volleyball talent will converge in Colorado Springs for USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) Boys Indoor Spring Training Series, running Feb. 27–March 2. Nearly 150 athletes will train under elite coaches, refining their skills and training at the highest level.
More than 160 collegiate athletes trained in Colorado Springs February 21-23 for the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Program. The program serves as a key development opportunity for potential selection to the U.S. Women’s National Team and National Team Development Program (NTDP) age-group national teams.

Coaching Careers
NCAA Division II
After leading the Winona State volleyball program since 2014, Joe Getzin has announced his retirement. Getzin tallied 197 wins in 10 seasons with the Warriors and led WSU to eight NSIC Tournaments and two NCAA Regionals. Kristine Pelky, who has been on staff since 2019, will be the head coach for the 2025 season.
Kevin Troup was announced as the head women’s volleyball coach at the University of Mount Olive.
NCAA Division III
Former Kohawk April Elsbernd has been named the next head volleyball coach at Coe College.
NAIA
Hannibal-LaGrange University is excited to announce Kelsey Pollard as the new head coach of Trojan volleyball.
Keiser Athletics announced the hiring of Dan Bergren as the next head coach of the volleyball program.
