AVCA First Serve Showcase – Early Ticket Access for AVCA Members
Four of the nation’s top collegiate volleyball teams – Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, and Wisconsin – will open the 2024 women’s season at the AVCA First Serve Showcase on Aug. 27 in Louisville, KY. The doubleheader will take place at the KFC Yum! Center, the same venue where the NCAA DI Women’s Volleyball National Championship will be held in December. Click here to learn more. The advanced sale runs through June 13 at 10 p.m. The public sale opens Friday the 14th at 10 a.m.
A funding effort, the pull of a new sport and a push from women have spurred growth at the high school level and beyond. Nationwide, the number of boys playing high school volleyball teams has jumped 56% in the past decade, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations. More than half of U.S. states now have an official high school championship for boys volleyball.
USA Volleyball Reveals Women’s Team for Paris 2024 U.S. Women’s National Team
USA Volleyball is proud to announce the 12 players who will compete on the U.S. Women’s National Team at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The roster includes eight players who won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and four players who will make their Olympic debuts in Paris.
U.S. Beach Teams Confirmed for Paris Olympic Games
USA Volleyball is proud to announce the athletes and staff who will comprise the U.S. Beach Volleyball Team for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The athlete roster includes two women’s teams and two men’s teams. USA Volleyball has won at least one beach volleyball medal in every Olympics since the sport became official in 1996.
The U.S. Men’s National Team came back after dropping the first set to beat Serbia 3-1 at the preliminary round of Volleyball Nations League on Friday in Ottawa, Canada. The U.S. Men (3-4) take on Canada (3-3) Saturday at 1:30 p.m. PT.
Wayland Baptist University announces that Women’s Beach Volleyball will be an added sport beginning in the 2024-25 season. WBU Head Volleyball Coach and AD Jim Giacomazzi will serve as head coach, and alum Lucie Mahelova will serve as the Assistant Coach.
USA Volleyball Announces 2024 Beach Collegiate National Teams
16 women and 15 men have been selected for the 2024 USA Volleyball Beach Collegiate National Team, part of the National Team Development Program (NTDP). The athletes will train June 11-19 at Hermosa Beach, CA, alongside USA Volleyball’s A2 Beach National Team. Athletes will play in the Beach Senior National Team NORCECA Trials June 18-19.
Volleyball legend, 4-time Olympian Jordan Larson aims to uplift next generation
The NCAA profiled Jordan Larson’s collegiate, Olympic, and coaching career. “The sport has given me so much. When I think about the most impactful people in my life, it has been coaches. Now I can share everything that’s been shared with me.”
Madi Skinner of Texas Volleyball made the first-ever All American Creator Team. This new recognition program honors female college athletes who excel not only in with athletic achievements but also in brand partnerships & social media influence.
The DIII Championships Committee has set the “dial weights” for fall team sports championships, including women’s volleyball. Variables: Win percentage vs strength of schedule, home versus away wins and losses, quality win bonus and multiplier and minimum wins for selection. An educational webinar will be hosted in June (date and details TBA).
Nominate your top high school athletes for a chance to be recognized when the Watch Lists are released in August. Uncommitted athletes on watch lists will also be invited to attend the AVCA Phenom College Prep Program December 19-21, 2024, in Louisville, KY.

The AVCA is proud to announce the third annual AVCA Best and Brightest Awards for Boys High School Senior student-athletes. To be eligible for the Best and Brightest Award, Senior student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.5 Unweighted/4.0 Weighted GPA during their junior year AND played in 50% of team’s sets during their senior season.
