AVCA Events

The 2025 AVCA First Serve public ticket sales start Friday at 10 a.m. CT. Limited tickets remain for the season-opening women’s volleyball showcase, which will take place at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Aug. 22–24, and at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Aug. 25. AVCA Advocacy

Sixteen national coaches associations [including the AVCA] have written the NCAA Division I Board of Governors in support of the National Junior College Athletic Association’s effort to change decades-long eligibility requirements for junior college athletes. Calling those eligibility standards “inexplicably more stringent” for junior college athletes transferring to NCAA schools, the NJCAA asked for “immediate change.”

Tickets for the 2025 NCAA Men’s National Collegiate Volleyball Championships are currently on sale! The eight teams that qualify for the 2025 NCAA Championships will compete in Columbus May 8-12. The championship will also be livestreamed on ncaa.com by using the NCAA Championships Pass app.

Around the Court

The NYPD and FDNY volleyball teams clashed in a spirited showdown on Saturday in the annual “Battle of the Badges” match, an event honoring first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty while strengthening bonds between police officers, firefighters, and the community. Read more.

The AVCA is pleased to announce the Boys’ High School Senior All-America volleyball athlete Watch List for the 2024-25 season. The list serves as the starting point for the Boys’ High School Senior All-America selection process. In June, the AVCA will name 20 student-athletes as an All-American.

NCAA Division I

Prairie View A&M University is proud to announce the appointment of Dottie Hampton as the new head coach of its volleyball program.

Alexa Keckler will be Middle Tennessee’s new women’s volleyball coach.

Tennessee Tech announced the hiring of Bella Borgiotti as head coach of the Tech beach volleyball program and as an assistant coach of the indoor volleyball squad.

NCAA Division II

Colorado State University Pueblo has announced the hiring of alumnus Jordan Bruere as the new head volleyball coach for the ThunderWolves.

Fort Lewis College announced that it has selected Justin Wong as its next volleyball head coach.

Winston-Salem State University has announced the appointment of Christa Brown as the program’s Head Women’s Volleyball Coach.

NCAA Division III

Wittenberg Men’s Volleyball welcomes new leadership as Jamie Peterson takes the reins as interim head coach.

Connor MacPhail was named head women’s volleyball coach at Colby-Sawyer College.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have found their next Head Volleyball Coach as veteran coach and former NJCAA National Champion Cesar Benatti has been named Head Coach.
