The AVCA Match Point Mentoring Program is designed exclusively for volleyball coaches at all levels of expertise. Our program centers on creating mentoring trios where these coaches serve as both mentors and mentees to create a collaborative learning experience. Applications for the 2024-2025 program will close April 30, and Trios will be announced in Mid-June.

Competitive Mindset for the Beginner Player – March 26 This presentation will take a look at applying strategies from sport psychology directly to players “young” to volleyball despite their actual age. Presenter: Lauren Caiaccia
League One Volleyball (LOVB) – the largest brand in youth volleyball with its professional volleyball league launching in the U.S. later this year – announced that famed coach, long-time volleyball advocate, and AVCA Hall of Fame Member Kathy DeBoer has joined the LOVB Foundation board as its chairwoman. With a mission to increase access to volleyball for youth across the United States, DeBoer will guide the directional strategy and efforts of the LOVB Foundation as it looks to accelerate its impact across the United States. The Ferris State University Women’s Volleyball program is celebrating Women’s History Month by welcoming back one of its legendary coaches, former AVCA Exective Director Kathy DeBoer. “Volleyball is the only sport that grew into mainstream without a more popular and broadly played male counterpart,” DeBoer stated. “I feel as if I’ve come full circle in my career – from a pro basketball league that was built on and mimicking a men’s model to a volleyball league where a women’s sport is standing on its own merits.” Read more.

Mount Marty University announces volleyball coaching change: Belen Albertos has announced her resignation as Head Volleyball Coach, and taking her place will be Sophia Lobo Paes, who served as the assistant coach under Albertos.
Ithaca College head volleyball coach Johan Dulfer will be stepping down from his coaching post. Dulfer elevated the Ithaca volleyball program from a consistent regional power into a true player on the national stage. Under his watch, the Bombers advanced to the NCAA Regional Round Championships in four of the past six seasons, while IC won back-to-back NCAA Regional Championships during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
