In the first-ever regular season college volleyball game broadcast nationally on ABC, the No. 4 University of Louisville volleyball team fell to No. 5 Nebraska in straight sets. But, Card Nation set a new volleyball attendance record at the KFC Yum! Center with 14,126 fans coming out for the match.
The Pittsburgh volleyball team swept Penn State in front of a sold-out crowd on Wednesday night. The 11,800 fans in attendance broke the previous program record of 8,865, set against Louisville last November.
Spalding University will add Men’s Volleyball starting next year, and has hired club coach Eric Garvey as its inaugural Head Coach. The team will be a part of the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MVCL), a men’s volleyball conference in NCAA Division III.
The Southeastern Conference will relaunch the SEC Volleyball Championship beginning in 2025 and has signed a three-year agreement to host the event at Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia. The SEC Volleyball Championship previously took place from 1979 to 2005.
The AVCA is pleased to welcome Malia Shoji, the head women’s volleyball coach at UNLV, to its Diversity Development Team. Since its founding in 2016, the team has focused on celebrating the rich history of minority-involvement in volleyball and creating opportunities for Black and ethnic minority coaches throughout the sport.
Voting for AVCA President-Elect, National Collegiate (NCAA D-I/II) Men, NCAA D-III Men, High School, and Club Volleyball Representatives positions on the AVCA Board of Directors will be conducted October 22-25. Interested candidates must contact kennedy.wells@avca.org

2024 AVCA Phenom College Prep Program: Registration is Now Open!
Coaches and parents: check your inbox for your registration link! The AVCA Phenom College Prep Program is an invitation-only event for uncommitted girls volleyball athletes (seniors on the AVCA All-American Watch List and uncommitted underclassmen on the AVCA Phenom List).
The AVCA Boys Talent Showcase is a recruiting event designed to provide high school boys the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of the collegiate coaches attending the AVCA Convention.
AVCA Girls & Women’s Volleyball Officials Appreciation Week September 27 – October 5, 2024, is the 4th Annual American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Girls and Women’s Volleyball Officials Appreciation Week. This nine-day period is set aside to make sure our officials know they are part of the sport. As coaches, you are the leaders, student-athletes, parents, and fans will follow your example of ensuring that we treat our officials in a manner befitting their role in helping girls and women’s volleyball become one of the United States most popular sports.
Monroe University is excited to announce the appointment of Megan Musselman as the second head coach of the Mustangs men’s volleyball program.

Fresh off a 2024 ASUN Championship title and first-ever victory in the NCAA Championship, North Florida beach volleyball head coach Doug Wright has signed a contract extension through 2028.
The JVA is pleased to welcome the JVA Sponsor Clubs for the 2024-2025 junior volleyball girls, boys and beach season. This marks the 8th year that the giveback program has provided financial support to JVA member clubs, making the implementation of new programs, new employment opportunities, and coaching development more accessible. Over $ 200,000 will be given back to JVA member clubs with an unprecedented number of participating girls, boys and beach programs.
