As the volleyball team captain and MVP her senior year, Hayley Ogden (Santana HS, San Diego, CA) was honored this Spring with the 2024 Grossmont Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Awardfor her respect for opponents, teammates, officials and coaches. Ogden, a graduate with a 4.553 GPA, will be attending Gonzaga University in the Fall on a full ride Volleyball Scholarship.

Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association (AHSVCA) President & HS Coach Amy Patterson presented to the 375-plus coaches in attendance at the AHSAA Volleyball Coaching Schoolon July 18. Other featured presenters included Univ. of Alabama Head Coach Rashinda Reed and her staff along with the AVCA’s Tara McGuire.
Brenda Mayes, Melanie Donahoo, and Pam Wilkins were inducted into the AHSVCA Hall of Fame during the AHSAA All-Star Match.
A new attendance record at 18,706 was set at the 92nd Annual Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Coaching School in San Antonio. Volleyball demos and education was provided by Coaches Dani Kelly (UofL), Taylor McCloskey (Houston), Joe Morales (A&M Commerce), Ryan McGuyre (Baylor), Chuck Waddington (Angelo State), and more.

Coaches Ben Wallis(UTEP) and Jon Wong(Rice University), and Tara McGuire(AVCA) presented to volleyball coaches at the 80th New Mexico High School Sports Summer Conference July 25-26, at the Albuquerque International Convention Center. The conference was hosted by AVCA Affiliate Partner – New Mexico High School Coaches Association (NMHSCA), NM Athletic Association, NM Officials Association, and the NM HS Athletic Directors Association.
It was an exciting Sunday (July 28) in Indianapolis at the Annual Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association (IHSVCA) Coaches Clinic. The clinic featured two AVCA DI Coach of the Year honorees plus HS coaches who have won more than 20 State Championships. Presenters included coaches Dani Busboom Kelly (Univ. of Louisville), Donan Cruz (BSU), Emily Jackson (Westfield HS), Terri Purichia (Providence HS), and more.
