The Illinois High School Athletic Association (IHSA) Officials recognized two volleyball teams and a student-athlete this month for displaying sportsmanship.
Congratulations Arroya Mongerie (Munster HS, IN) for earning an exemplary behavior report from volleyball officials for outstanding leadership and sportsmanship during a recent match. Officials said she represents her team with pride and integrity.

Submit your nominations now until October 11, for 2024-25 Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association (AHVCA) All-State and Coach of the Year. Awards will be selected by class. AHSVCA/AVCA active membership is required to nominate.

Kansas (KVA)
The USD 411 Goessel Schools volleyball team donated $4,150 to the National Kidney Foundation. One of their volleyball officials present for the special ceremony held during their volleyball match this month is currently on the transplant list as he undergoes dialysis as he waits for a new kidney. The Clearwater High School hosted a successful volleyball officials clinic with 30 attendees, including the volleyball team who supported the event on August 17, with live action play. Read more.
Kentucky (KVCA)
The KHSAA is making preparations for the 2025 boys spring season. 61 schools have indicated they would field a 2024-25 KHSAA Boys Volleyball Team.
Newark Catholic HS AD Jeff Quackenbush (OH) talks about the FIRST EVER HS volleyball match, “I think we opened some eyes to our HS volleyball program, and those people are now coming back.”

North Carolina
NCVBCA All-Region nominations are open October 14-18. Each NCVBCA/AVCA member varsity head coach can nominate UP TO THREE eligible student-athletes, but you can only nominate TWO players from your own team/school. Players must have been on the 2024-25 NCVBCA Watch List to be nominated to All-Region.

For the first time in its history, the AVCA will select a Girls High School National Player of the Year, presented by Nike Volleyball. A Watch List of 24 athletes has been created in advance of the announcement of four Player of the Year Finalists. These four Finalists will be announced on November 18, with all four being invited to attend and be honored at the AVCA All-America Banquet on December 20th. The winner of the inaugural award will be announced onsite in Louisville!
AVCA-Taraflex Scholarship Programwill provide 100 AVCA memberships to a group of high school volleyball coaches as a way for Taraflex to celebrate the installation of its 100th court

USA Volleyball announces John Speraw as the next President and CEO of USA Volleyball!
USA Volleyball also recently announced a new program to produce more high-level referees. The National Officials Development Program (NODP) will focus on identifying, recruiting and accelerating the development of high-potential referees to strengthen officiating at regional, national and international levels.
