Landmark Conference to Sponsor Men’s Volleyball Beginning in 2027
The Landmark Conference will officially sponsor men’s volleyball beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, expanding its championship offerings to 24 sports.
The addition of men’s volleyball comes as Lycoming College and The University of Scranton announced starting varsity programs, joining four current Landmark institutions — Drew University, Elizabethtown College, Juniata College, and Wilkes University — that already sponsor the sport and currently compete in the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC).
Lake Forest Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Catanzaro announced Thursday that Forester Athletics will grow to 28 programs in 2026-27 with the addition of cheerleading, a dance team, and men’s volleyball.
Tennessee Boys Volleyball Association State Tournament
The TBVA recently held its second annual state tournament, bringing together the best high school boys’ volleyball teams from across the state. The event took place on Saturday, May 10, at TOA in Franklin, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Congratulations to Green Hill High School on winning the championship!
The first CIF State Boys Volleyball high school playoff tournament finishes Friday and Saturday in Fresno. The matches are highlighted by Division I Championship match between Mira Costa and Archbishop Mitty.
Winter Park beat Miami Southwest to win the FHSAA Class 3A boys volleyball state championship and become the first program in the sport to win three titles in a span of four seasons.
Congratulations to Nebraska’s first-ever Boys Volleyball State Champions: Lincoln Elite! After an incredible season and 8-weeks of play, Lincoln Elite battled with Omaha Grasshoppers in a 5-set victory to claim the State’s first-ever Title!
MIAA State Tournament Field Announced

The OHSAA held its inaugural boys volleyball state tournament in 2023. The Ohio Boys Scholastic Volleyball Coaches Association conducted the state tournament from 1988 through 2022.
West Forsyth defeated Hough in the 4A NC Boys Volleyball State Championship on May 17, at Queen’s University Levine Center, and TMSA-Triangle defeated Mount Pleasant to claim the 3A/2A/1A title.
IHSAA First Ever State Championship this Weekend
The Final Four is set for this Saturday’s Inaugural IHSAA Boys Volleyball State Finals at Mackey Arena.
Weeks after the cut, a groundswell of support has emerged. Local high school teams have worn purple in solidarity before matches. Even other NCAA men’s volleyball programs have voiced their disapproval.
Boys volleyball, a sport that isn’t yet sanctioned by the N.C. High School Athletic Association, is in its ninth year of holding its own state championships. It has experienced exponential growth and now boasts 135 teams across the state, public and private, with more lined up to join next year.
The U.S. Men’s National Team has unveiled its 30-player long-list roster for the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL), featuring a competitive mix of Olympic veterans, seasoned pros, and rising stars.
USA Volleyball announced the 21 athletes who will train with the 2025 Men’s U23 National Team for the NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup, July 27-August 4 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. McKendree University men’s head coach Nickie Sanlin will lead the team.
US Men’s Sitting Team Wins Silver at 2025 PVPA Zonal
The eighth-ranked U.S. Men’s Sitting National Team qualified for the 2026 ParaVolley World Championship with a silver-medal finish Wednesday at the 2025 ParaVolley Pan America Zonal Championship.
The rosters of the 18 national teams that will take part in the seventh edition of the event were released and published on the tournament’s website, further increasing the excitement for the initial week of competition, from June 11-15.
Nominations for the 2025 AVCA Boys High School All-American Awards are currently being accepted. Completed nominations are due by next Tuesday, June 3.
**New for 2025, Non-Senior athletes will be considered for AVCA All-America.**
Athletes included on the 2025 AVCA All-America Watch List or 2025 AVCA High Risers ListMUST still be nominated at the link above in order to be considered for AVCA All-American.
In order for a team to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, the entire team must achieve a minimum TEAM cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale) or an 82.0 (on a 100-point scale) during the entire 2024-2025 academic year.
