Coach Hou is a former China National Team Setter and former Chinese Women’s National Team Coach, and helped team win 1996 Atlanta Silver Medal in the Games of the XXVI Olympiad. Jing’s has coached more than 25-years, including in college where he was a part of 3 NCAA appearances, won the ACC Conference in 2007, and won the NJCAA National Championship in 1997 and 2000. Jing also previously served as a head coach at the A5 Volleyball Club, and received the 2016 AVCA 12’s Club Coach of the Year and 2020 AVCA 17’s Club Coach of the Year award.
Over 665 participants in 47 states took part in a record-setting 2024 AVCA Girls and Women’s Volleyball #OFFICIATIONWEEK! This year’s participation tops the previous record of 600 participants in 44 states set in 2023. The final number of participants will be released soon.
#OFFICIATIONWEEK and the new #InspireSportsmanship campaign, demonstrate the AVCA’s and the volleyball community’s leadership in demonstrating respect and appreciation for officials and good sportsmanship.

Mater Dei (CA) moved to the No. 1 spot followed by No. 2 Prestonwood Christian (TX) and No. 3 Roncalli (IN) that moved up from No. 14 last week. No. 23 Champlin Park (MN) and No. 25 Gilmour Academy (OH) also entered the top 25.
Our condolences go out to the family, friends and community over the unexpected loss of beloved Clovis East High School Boys Head Coach Marcos Orro (CA).
Kelly Avants with Clovis East said, “We lost a beloved mentor and boys volleyball coach yesterday. Mr. Marcos Orro was a coach for us for a number of years. He was well-known throughout the state’s high school volleyball community, and this loss has hit heavily in that community of students and staff.”
Friends, family, former players and coaches fill the gymnasium in Mt. Vernon (IN), with some traveling hundreds of miles to support and recognize former Mt. Vernon High School Volleyball Coach Eric Bulmahn battling cancer. Fans wore “Eric Strong” shirts sponsored by The Academy Volleyball Club.
Jaclyn Bulmahn, who played for her dad from 2014-17, described the support as “overwhelming, but in the best way possible. It’s been amazing seeing how his legacy has really been passed down.”
